CAM 110, Requesting a Code Amendment

DPD generally reviews codes on a periodic basis for necessary updates and maintenance. A citizen request for a code amendment may be handled individually or may be incorporated into an upcoming routine review and update. There is no fee for submission or review of a code amendment request. A request to change a code becomes law only after approval by the City Council and the Mayor. Decisions by elected officials occur after DPD prepares a report and recommendation on a proposed change. The department is not obligated to prepare a report or propose code amendments on every request received.
